UK Picks Up Two Football Commitments

The football season may not be going to well for Joker Phillips, but somehow he continues to bring some pretty nice recruits in. After an embarrassing loss to Florida, the football squad still came away with two new commitments, even a kid from the state of Florida.

Kadeem Thomas, a 5-foot-11 linebacker, gave Kentucky his verbal pledge. Thomas could come in and fill the void once Danny Trevathan exits in the future.

Many people have compared Thomas to Trevathan, and in my opinion, this is a great pickup for Rick Minter. Thomas brings a sense of leadership and authority on the defensive side of the ball for the future.

Running back has also been a question-mark for this class, but it looks like UK finally got their guy.

Shadrach Thornton (pictured), a 6-foot-1 speedster from Liberty County High School (Geo.), also gave UK a soft verbal commitment.

Thornton will take more visits to NC State, Georgia Tech, and Vanderbilt, but he cited the game-day atmosphere as a major factor in his commitment.

I wonder what it would be like if all the seats in Commonwealth was filled…. The world may never know.

Either way, great additions for Kentucky football.
