It has been rumored for weeks that Texas A&M would leave the Big 12 and join the SEC.
Today it is official.
Here is a statement from Kentucky Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart:

Coming off its best year athletically in school history, Texas A&M adds a strong athletic program along with its academic prowess to the best league in the country. I look forward to competing against one of my mentors, Bill Byrne, for years to come.”—Mitch Barnhart[/I]
The Aggies will be on the schedule next season in the SEC, as they are will be joining in July.
