Kentucky Overcomes Turnovers to Beat LSU

The Kentucky Wildcats held off a rough and tough LSU team in New Orleans Arena 60-51.

Kentucky was led in scoring by 19 points by Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. MKG was the go to guy for Calipari when the game was a lot closer than what many expected.

Terrence Jones was also a key factor as he played great defensively, held Johnny O’Bryant to 2 points, and scored 15 points of his own while grabbing 11 rebounds.

The game overall was nip and tuck for most of the contest, but Kentucky’s length finally played a factor in the 2nd half to help overcome all the turnovers they had committed.

The Cats finished with 18 turnovers, which kept LSU around a lot longer than they should have been. Kentucky just wasn’t as focused as usual, but the combination of Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Jones, and Anthony Davis was just too much.

Davis finished with 12 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 blocks and Doron Lamb had 12 points on 4-7 shooting.

The Cats will play the winner of Florida/Alabama tomorrow at 1pm eastern.
