John Wall’s Advice to Rookies

John Wall was the number one pick in last year’s NBA draft, so when he tells this year’s prospects “Just don’t worry about when you get drafted”, you expect the reply to be “easy for you to say.” But that’s one of the things Wall is saying to the new class.

In an interview with USA Today, Wall had these other bits of advice:
It’s not all about if you go No. 1 or you go to the 20th pick of the draft. You’ve just got to work.

Just work hard, stay hungry, do the same thing you did before you got to the NBA and just learn and develop each day.
And one more thing: don’t agree to throw out a baseball pitch on national television unless you’ve actually thrown out a baseball pitch. John didn’t actually say that, that was mine.
