It is that time of year during the offseason where John Calipari and his staff are hard at work on the recruiting trail. We all know he is the best at what he does and he is still striving to be even better. Cal wrote earlier today on his website:

“The biggest challenge when you win is complacency. We are guarding against it. At this point, I’m trying to work harder than I have in the past. I’m trying to spend more time on the recruiting trail and be more connected than I ever have.”

And with the new NCAA recruiting rules, Cal will be able to stay more connected. The rules now allow coaches to make unlimited phone calls and texts to prospective recruits, including private messages via social media. Judging from what Calipari has done the past three years it may be safe to say the next three could be even brighter.

Cal also wrote that he wants us all to “stay humble and hungry.” Knowing Kentucky fans, I don’t think that will be too tall of an order.
