LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s basketball alumna and Atlanta Dream superstar Rhyne Howard has been selected as a reserve for the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, it was announced by the league office.
This is her fourth All-Star selection in five seasons in the WNBA.
Howard ranks first on the Dream and 10th in the league with 18.9 points per game this season. She also leads the league with 2.5 steals per game and second with 3.4 three-point shots made per game. She adds 3.8 rebounds per game and 3.2 assists per game, too, on top of developing into one of the league’s premier perimeter defenders.
On June 9 at Chicago Sky, Howard eclipsed 2,500 career points to become the youngest player in WNBA history to record 2,500 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists, 200 steals and 100 blocks. She is currently the youngest player to ever reach that milestone, ahead of Diana Taurasi and Maya Moore. She also accomplished that feat in the second-fewest games in WNBA history, trailing only Tamika Catchings.
One game later on June 11 against New York Liberty, she became the youngest player in WNBA history to make 400 career 3s. She reached that mark in just 147 games, shattering the previous record for the fewest games needed to hit that milestone.
Howard has helped the Dream to a 12-9 overall record thus far, ranking seventh in the league standings.
The 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will be played in Chicago at United Center on Saturday, July 25, and broadcast on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The 12 reserves were selected by the WNBA’s 15 head coaches, who each voted for three guards, five frontcourt players and four players at either position, regardless of conference. In addition to the 12 reserves, the 10 starters – four guards and six frontcourt players – were selected by fans, current players and media.
