Shortly after Kentucky stunned South Carolina 35-34 in overtime on Saturday, head coach Will Stein compared his team to a famous Kentucky men’s basketball team.
“I am a big Wildcat basketball fan,” Stein said in the postgame interview. “That was Comeback Cats right there. Comeback freaking Cats in Columbia, South Carolina.”
The Comeback Cats won the 1998 national championship for new head coach Tubby Smith.
