Terrence Jones Getting Back…to Last Year’s Role

Terrence Jones made a significant contribution in yesterday’s game against the dirty birds (his first in about a month and a half). Especially when Anthony Davis was on the bench in the first half with 2 fouls.

Terrence didn’t have the greatest game offensively (see Chris Minton’s comments about ripping your pinky 90 degrees and trying shoot a basketball) but he did pour in double-digit rebounds. And 8 of those 11 were defensive.

If you recall last season, when Terrence Jones committed to the D and the offense wasn’t run through him, Kentucky began to take off. And it seemed like everytime the offense came back through Mr. Southpaw, team production would drop.

Jones is still getting back to All-American form, and because of this year’s offensive focus being in the frontcourt, he should be more of a cohesive part of the points production. But if UK is gonna have a real chance at #8, Terrence must have games like he did yesterday and continue to maintain his presense on the boards, giving the CATS second chances on offense and owning the glass on D.
