Terrence Jones Addresses the Finger, and the IU Performance…Sort of.

Following Terrence Jones’ return to action against Lamar, he spoke to the press, sort of. Jones was asked about his finger, his performance against Indiana, his reaction to what fans and media had to say about his performance, and all he could do was to talk about ‘Winning’.

How Charlie Sheen of you, Terrence…

Jones on the IU loss:
”It happened,”. “The game is over. We just have to move on. There’s nothing I can do to change what happened.”

Understood, Terrence. But what did happen?

On whether being benched at the end of the IU game had any affect on him personally:
”I don’t even think like that,” he said. “I just hope to win. I don’t care about being in or not being in.”

On his reaction to Dick Vitale’s comments about his performance:
”That’s his opinion,” “I don’t know what I could say to that.”

On whether the pinky (and the pain) will be a factor on Saturday against Loisuville:
”I don’t know,” “I just want to win. Anything else doesn’t really matter to me.”

Do the things you need to do in order to win, matter?

Each time Jones was asked to elaborate on anything related to the past weeks since the IU game, all that he responded with were deadpan empty answers. He did admit that he is still playing with a very ginger shooting hand. Which anyone who half-watched last night’s game could see.

Not that Jones had a terrible performance, after IU anything would be an improvement. But there were several times when it was very apparent that he was playing with a wounded wing. One instance that stands out in particular was a rebound he went for, and instead of grabbing it with both hands, Jones wrapped his right arm around it to pull it down. Very Awkward. All in all; 9pts, 6 rebounds, and 1 block in 27 minutes is not bad. And the CATS need Jones’ rebounding more than anything.

But back to my original topic,

What was going on in Bloomington, what does Terrence Jones think about what happened, and what has he done to insure that will not happen again?

Looks like those are questions akin to that of the Kennedy Assassination, the Loch Ness Monster or how why Coach Cal is such a ‘cup half empty’ guy, we will never know…
