Signing day is just one week away and as we’ve reported over the course of the past week, Louisville Eastern standout [B]Jon Davis[/B] (pictured above) has been considering switching his UK commitment over to Louisville. Davis is also considering Illinois, but many believe that’s a long shot and that his decision will be between UK & UL. Last night Jon told Kendrick Haskins of WAVE 3 Sports that he has made up his mind and plans on announcing sometime today.
The Louisville faithful believe that he is switching his commitment over to them and if true, this is a HUGE loss for Joker Phillips. As many of you that have kept up with UK football recruiting know, Jon was Joker’s first commit once Rich Brooks handed over the reigns to Joker. Also, this is loss of the battle of Jefferson County recruits to Charlie Strong & Louisville.
In other recruiting news:
Cincinnati Winton Woods linebacker,[B] Antonio Poole[/B] has announced that he has committed to Michigan and new head coach Brady Hoke. Best of luck to him!
Christian County athlete,[B] Bubba Tandy[/B] has recently been visited by UK coaches and also has had some visits from Marshall. Many expect Tandy to be a Wildcat when it’s all said and done.
UL commit and Seneca quarterback, [B]DaMarcus Smith[/B] is worth keeping your eye on. Many believe he MIGHT be switching his commitment elsewhere after the commitment from 4* QB, Teddy Bridgwater. UCF is making a huge push for Smith, but don’t rule out UK either.
Former UL commit and Fern Creek athlete, [B]Jerrell Moore[/B] didn’t visit UCF this past weekend but is expected to try and visit again this upcoming weekend. Many believe he’s either headed to UK or UCF.
Alabama commit, [B]Daryl Collins[/B] plans on visiting UK this weekend. The 3* receiver reportedly visited UL this past weekend and is expected to decommit from Alabama. It looks like UK has a shot, so lets keep our eyes on Collins over the next several days.
Ole Miss commit, [B]Collins Moore[/B] is expected to decommit and the 3* receiver is considering UK and many like Joker’s chances of landing him. Moore was asked to gray shirt during his recent visit with Ole Miss.
Also, for those who have been living in a cave, Boyle County linebacker [B]Lamar Dawson [/B]will announce his college destination on signing day, Feb. 2 @ Boyle County High.
