Postgame Notes from Kentucky’s Exhibition Win Over No. 1 Purdue

Kentucky knocked off No. 1 Purdue 78-65 in exhibition action last night at Rupp Arena.

The Wildcats are now 115-12 all-time in exhibition games, including 34 consecutive wins in the preseason. The last loss was August 17, 2014, vs. the Dominican Republic national team.

Team Records and Series Notes
 UK improved to 155-12 all-time in exhibition games.
 UK has won its last 34 exhibition games dating back to a win vs. Pikeville on Nov.
2, 2014.
 The last loss was Aug. 17, 2014, vs. the Dominican Republic in the final
game of the 2014 Big Blue Bahamas exhibition tour.

 Tonight’s game does not count in the series record. Kentucky leads the series, 6-
2, including 2-1 in games played in Lexington.
 The Wildcats play their second exhibition Thursday, Oct. 30 vs. Georgetown
University. Game time is 7 p.m. and it will be televised on SEC Network+.
Team Notes
 Kentucky shot 49.2 percent from the field while limiting Purdue to 38.6 percent.
 The Wildcats won second chance points 14-4, fast break points 15-5 and bench
points 34-18.
Player Notes  
 Ten Wildcats played at least 15:41 tonight. All 10 players scored, had at least
one rebound and one assist.
 Three Wildcats scored in double figures. Jasper Johnson led the way with 15
points while Trent Noah and Otega Oweh tallied 10 each.
 Mouhamed Dioubate led all rebounders with nine boards.

 UK is 3-0 in exhibition play under Mark Pope.
 Pope will enter his 11 th season as a head coach with a 211-120 all-time record,
including 24-12 entering his second season at Kentucky.
In the First Half
 Kentucky started Otega Oweh, Denzel Aberdeen, Trent Noah, Mo Dioubate
and Brandon Garrison.
 Collin Chandler was UK’s first substitution at the 15:40 mark.
 Tied at 8, a Dioubate layup put UK ahead and the Wildcats led the remainder of
the half.
 Leading 24-21, a 7-0 spurt gave UK its largest lead of the half at 31-21.
 UK went to halftime with a 38-30 advantage, as Oweh and Jasper Johnson
paced the Wildcats in scoring with eight apiece.
In the Second Half

 Kentucky began the second half with the starters.
 Purdue came within three points at 44-41, but a UK seven-point surge restored a
double-digit lead.
 With Kentucky leading 58-50, Purdue missed nine consecutive field goal
attempts and the Wildcats stretched the lead to 66-52.
 Kentucky eventually led by 17 points at 74-57.
