Perry Ellis gets In Home Visit from Kansas State

Kansas State head man Frank Martin made an in home visit with Kentucky target Perry Ellis and pitched him on being the next Bill Walker.

”They said that Perry is a great mismatch player and that he could play two, three or four position,” Ellis’ mother, Fonda, said in a email that came complete with purple font on Tuesday morning. “Coach Martin showed us Bill Walker’s video. He thought that he is a very similar player, so he wanted Perry to see how he played for him at K-State.”

From start to finish, the visit lasted just more than 3.5 hours. Hosts of topics were covered and desire was re-expressed from Martin. This recruitment is now its late stages. And with just two in-home visits left on the Ellis agenda (Wichita State and Kentucky), a commitment could be coming soon.

The 6-foot-8-forward, a much-talked-about commodity, hopes to make things official with the school of his choice during November’s early signing period, but there’s no intent to keep everyone waiting until then. This announcement won’t brush up against midnight at the ball.

“Perry is planning to decide which school is right for him after all his in-home visits,” Fonda Ellis said. “He wants to give each school one last chance to really share their program and what their plans are for him.”

Publicly, K-State’s trip to Wichita changed nothing. Ellis’ camp still contends there are no front runners , and he’s yet to set a single official campus visit. So as Martin and company pulled out a pen to try to nail down a date for a return trip to Manhattan, the offer was forced to be put on hold.

“They asked if we thought about when to set up our official visit,” Fonda Ellis said. “We said we have not set up any official visits yet. We are waiting to do this after all the in-home visits are completed.”

No word on a commitment or dates for visits are expected to be announced until Kentucky has its turn in the Ellis living room, thus rounding out the circuit of in-home conversations.
