According to a report by Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, North Carolina is targeting Tulane coach Jon Sumrall as the next head coach of the Tar Heels.
Duncan adds that North Carolina, Purdue and Central Florida have all expressed interest in Sumrall.
Sumrall was a graduate assistant at Kentucky after his playing career there. From 2019-21, he was a position coach at UK. He as since compiled a 32-7 head coaching record at Troy and Tulane.
Many Kentucky fans have expressed interest in bringing Sumrall back to Lexington as a head coach.
