North Carolina reportedly intends to hire longtime NBA coach Michael Malone as the school’s next head basketball coach.
Malone has been an assistant or head coach in the NBA with the Knicks, Cavaliers, Hornets, Warriors, Kings and Nuggets. He won an NBA championship in 2023 with Denver.
The last time Malone coached as an assistant in college basketball was 2001 with Manhattan. He was also an assistant coach during the 1990s with Oakland and Providence.
