The Atlanta Tipoff Club has announced their preseason list of top contenders for the Naismith High School Player of the Year.
The list includes Shabazz Muhammad; Kyle Anderson; Brandon Ashley; Marcus Smart; Isaiah Austin; and our own Alex Poythress.
Last year’s winner was Austin Rivers. For Alex and Shabazz’ sake (if Shabazz makes the right move and comes to Lexington) I hope the award wasn’t the reason for Austin’s disappointing start this year.
