Mark Pope talked about the upcoming NCAA Tournament and much more on his weekly show Monday night.
Pope gave an unfortunate update on Jayden Quaintance, indicating that he will not be available for the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
“JQ is making progress, but I don’t think he’s going to be able to cross the finish line before this weekend,” Pope said.
Pope also explained the decision to have a private Selection Show party with just his players and coaches. He thought the night “set the tone” for what he hopes is a magical tournament run.
“It’s the only moment we’ve had the entire season where it’s just been us,” Pope stated.
Pope also praised Herb Sendek and talked about Kentucky’s opening tournament game against Santa Clara.
