Here is a press release from UK Athletics:
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program has added two more nonconference games to its schedule for 2025-26, it was announced by head coach Kenny Brooks on Thursday.
Kentucky will play host to USC Upstate at home on Nov. 12 and at Belmont in Nashville, Tennessee, on Dec. 14. UK faced both programs inside Historic Memorial Coliseum in 2024-25.
The Wildcats, with the addition of USC Upstate and Belmont, currently have 12 nonconference games on its schedule, while they’re expected to add more in the coming weeks. TV designations and tip times for their entire schedule will be announced at a later date.
The Wildcats defeated the Spartans, 98-43, in both teams’ season openers inside Historic Memorial Coliseum last November. It marked the first game and first win of the Brooks era in the Bluegrass, while it was the program’s second largest margin of victory ever in a season opener (55 points). The Cats shot 52.2 percent from the field and recorded 45 rebounds, 26 assists, 10 steals and 12 blocks in the game. The Cats’ 98 points and 26 assists were both season highs for the team in 2024-25.
In the game against the Bruins, All-American point guard Georgia Amoore scored 23 points, including 20 in the second half, to help Kentucky hold off Belmont, 84-78, at home last December.
Belmont went on to earn a 26-13 record, including a 15-5 mark in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Bruins accepted a bid to the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament, playing all the way to the championship game where they fell to No. 2 Minnesota in early April. Before that, the Bruins also competed in the MVC Tournament championship game, only to fall to top-seeded Murray State.
