Kentucky freshman volleyball setter Kassie O’Brien was named the Southeastern Conference Setter of the Week on Monday.
O’Brien totaled 74 assists in SEC sweeps over South Carolina and Georgia.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky freshman setter Kassie O’Brien was named the Southeastern Conference’s Setter of the Week on Monday, the league announced.
O’Brien led UK to two sweeps this week in SEC play with 40 assists in her first-career SEC match and then 34 assists against Georgia in a three-set victory. O’Brien logged 12.33 assists per set, while guiding the Kentucky offense to a .353 hitting percentage as a team, as UK hit above .340 in both of its matches to open SEC competition. O’Brien also had 13 digs and four blocks to go alongside her 74 assists as Kentucky started SEC play with a 2-0 record for the first time since 2021.
Kentucky plays only one match this week, as the Wildcats take on Ole Miss in Oxford on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET. The match will be televised on SEC Network and the ESPN app with Alex Loeb and Shelby Coppedge on the call from the Gilliam Athletics Center.
