Kentucky’s Brooklyn DeLeye and Eva Hudson were named to the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches’ Association 2025 Player of the Year Watch List on Wednesday afternoon.
DeLeye will enter the season as the reigning Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and AVCA Southeast Region Player of the Year.
Hudson, a transfer from Purdue, led the Big Ten with over five kills per set last season.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Volleyball players Brooklyn DeLeye and Eva Hudson were both placed on the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association 2025 Player of the Year Watch List, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
The players on the preseason list are being revealed starting July 22 and concluding July 24 in three groups of 10. There is no order to which list the players are on, except that all of a school’s candidates will appear the same day.
The Preseason Watch List was compiled by the AVCA Division I Women’s Volleyball Awards Committee.
DeLeye, the reigning Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and AVCA Southeast Region Player of the Year, is currently with the United States National Team competing at the 2025 Pan Am Cup, where she helped lead the Americans to a 3-0 win Tuesday morning in the first match of the competition. She had 16 kills and was responsible for 18 points in Team USA’s win.
Hudson, who enters her first year at Kentucky after transferring in from Purdue University in the winter of 2024, led the Big Ten with over five kills per set a season ago as the Boilermakers qualified for the 2024 NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Louisville Regional. Hudson is also currently with the USA Volleyball program, where she is training with the U-23’s looking to earn a spot on the active roster for upcoming U-23 national team competition.
Kentucky’s season begins Saturday, August 30 at Lipscomb in Nashville, Tennessee.
