Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein will be the next head coach at the University of Kentucky.
Stein, a former Trinity High School player, and UK are finalizing contract details with an announcement coming soon.
According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Stein will continue to call plays for the Ducks throughout the College Football Playoff. He will assume a dual role until Oregon’s season ends.

Stein played quarterback at Louisville from 2008-12. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Cards in 2013 and a quality control in 2014.
From 2015-17, he worked as a quality control coach for Texas.
From Texas, he took an assistant’s job at Lake Travis (Tx.) High School, where he worked from 2018-19.
In 2020, Stein returned to the college ranks on the staff at UTSA.
Oregon hired Stein as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach in 2022. He has been with the Ducks for three seasons.
