LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky senior punter Aidan Laros (pronounced luh-ROSS) was named one of “Ray’s 8” for Week 3, the Augusta Sports Council and the Ray Guy committee announced Monday.

Laros, a Cape Town, South Africa, native, is also on the watch list for the Ray Guy Award, which honors the nation’s top collegiate punter in the FBS. The Ray’s 8 list recognizes the top punting performances each week throughout the season.

Two of his punts were 50-plus yards (51 and 54), and he also landed two of his three punts inside the 20-yard line. Laros’ punting average improved to 44.71 yards per punt, which ranks fourth in the Southeastern Conference and 23rd nationally. His career average at UK is now 45.2 yards per punt.

Off the field, Laros is on track to graduate in December with a double major in finance and accounting.

UK (1-1, 0-1 SEC) has a bye this week and will visit South Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
