Kentucky Overcomes First Half Struggles to Hammer Nicholls

Kentucky opened the 2025-26 regular season with a comfortable 77-51 win over Nicholls on Tuesday night at Rupp Arena.

The Wildcats (1-0) struggled in the first half, shooting just 2-for-16 from the three-point line and 6-for-13 from the free throw line.

The second half was a different story as the Cats rolled to a 70-40 lead following a Collin Chandler three-pointer. Chandler finished with a career-high 15 points, including one of the best dunks we’ll see this season.




Otega Oweh added 13 points for Kentucky. Jasper Johnson added 11 points and 4 assists. Denzell Aberdeen returned from injury to contribute 10 points and 6 assists.
