With last night’s 16-13 overtime loss to Texas, the Kentucky football team has lost nine consecutive Southeastern Conference games.
The loss dropped the Wildcats to 2-4 overall and 0-4 in the SEC.
The Cats set season highs last night in rush attempts (46), pass completions (31), passing yards (258), total plays (86), sacks (3) and first downs (26)…and still managed to lose.

The last time Kentucky played an overtime game was against Ole Miss at home
on Oct. 3, 2020, when UK lost to UM, 42-41.
o UK has played in 12 overtime games in program history, owning a 3-9
record.
The Wildcats set season highs in rush attempts (46), pass completions (31),
passing yards (258), total plays (86), sacks (3) and first downs (26).
o The Cats’ 26 first downs were their most in a SEC game since earning 35
against the Vols on Nov. 6, 2021, when UK lost to UT, 45-42.
That also marked the last time UK had at least 86 plays in a SEC
game.
UK put up 395 yards of total offense tonight, its most against an SEC opponent
since collecting 444 against Tennessee on Oct. 28, 2023, when UK lost to UT,
33-27.
Kentucky totaled 395 yards offense against a Texas defense that entered the
game 11 th in the nation in total defense at 269.8 yards per game.
The Wildcats tallied 26 first downs against a defense allowing just 14 per game,
ranking 10 th in the nation.
Kentucky's defense held Texas to 179 total yards of offense.
o The last time UK held an SEC opponent to 179 yards or less was 2014 vs.
Vanderbilt (139 yards).
Kentucky limited Texas to eight first downs, fewest against an SEC opponent
since Vanderbilt in 2014 (also eight).
This was the fewest total yards allowed and fewest first downs allowed vs. a
ranked opponent since the 1976 Peach Bowl vs. North Carolina (108 yards, five
first downs).
UK has allowed 16 points or less against an Associated Press ranked opponent
in seven of the last eight seasons.
Twelve players caught at least one pass, a season high.

QB Cutter Boley completed a career-best, 31-of-39 pass attempts for a career-
best 258 yards.
o He added a career-best 14 rushes for a career-best 45 yards and the first
touchdown rushing of his career.
o On non-sack plays, he ran 11 times for 69 yards.
o His 16-yard TD run is longest for a UK QB since Will Levis in 2021 at
Louisville.
o Boley’s 31 completions is the most for a UK freshman quarterback since
Jared Lorenzen in 2000.
o Boley’s 258 passing yards are the most for a UK freshman since Maxwell
Smith threw for 283 vs. Ole Miss in 2011.
o His 79.4 percent completion percentage is also a career best and the best
single-game percentage for a freshman quarterback with 30 attempts.
o His 79.4 percentage is the best for any UK quarterback since Dusty
Bonner completed 85 percent (34 of 40) vs. Connecticut in 1999.
o Boley is the first UK quarterback with at least 250 passing yards and 45
rushing yards since Will Levis vs. Tennessee in 2021.
RB Seth McGowan had 14 carries for 45 yards rushing, while also leading the
team with a career-best seven catches for 68 yards receiving.
o Seven catches is the most for a UK running back since Raymond Sanders
caught seven vs. Georgia in 2010.
DB Ty Bryant led the team with seven tackles, which included his first solo tackle
for loss (-1 yard) this season.
LB Grant Godfrey had a career-high four tackles and had one-half quarterback
sack, the first of his career.
Four others had a career-high-tying four tackles, including:
o DB Tehryon Nichols had a career-high-tying four tackles
o DL David Gusta had a career-high-tying four tackles and a half-sack
o DL Tavion Gadson had a career-high-tying four tackles and a half-sack
LB Steven Soles Jr., who had two tackles, also recorded his third sack (-8
yards) of the season and the fourth of his career.
LB Daveren Rayner reached the 200-tackle mark in his career with his three
stops tonight, totaling 201 for his career.
K Jacob Kauwe went 2-of-3 from field goals (46 yards, 45 yards), only missing a
53 yarder, which would have been his career long.
o The redshirt freshman added 1-of-1 on PAT, improving to 15-of-15 for his
season / his career.
