Kentucky Comes Up Short at No. 14 Florida

Kentucky fell behind early and couldn’t complete a comeback, falling short 92-83 at No. 14 Florida this afternoon.

The Wildcats (17-8, 8-4 SEC) fell behind by as many as 15 points in the first half, but managed to cut the lead to just two, 43-41, early in the second half.

From there, Florida (19-6, 10-2) extended the lead and the Cats were never able to fully recover.

Denzel Aberdeen, facing his former team, led Kentucky in scoring with 19 points. Collin Chandler added 18 points, including 5-for-7 from three-point range. Otega Oweh struggled a bit but still finished with 13 points. Malachi Moreno chipped in a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Kentucky returns home for an important game against Georgia on Tuesday night. On Saturday, the Cats head to the Plains for a battle with Auburn.
