Guy,Tydlacka Named Game Captains for Central Michigan Game

[B]Kentucky to face Central Michigan at Noon ET on ESPNU on Saturday[/B]

LEXINGTON, Ky. –University of Kentucky senior safety Winston Guy and senior punter Ryan Tydlacka have been named game captains for Kentucky’s home opener with Central Michigan on Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium at Noon ET.

Game captains are usually chosen on the basis of performance in the previous game. Guy had perhaps the best overall game of his career for Kentucky last week, recording 10 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions. For his efforts, Guy was named the College Football Performance Awards Defensive Back Performer of the Week.

Tydlacka, a native of Louisville,Ky., changed the field position game in the second half for Kentucky against WKU, launching seven punts for an average of 47.1 yards, including three punts inside the WKU 10-yard line. Tydlacka was also honored by the College Football Performance Awards as honorable mention Punter of the Week.

[B]UK Athletics to Host“Heroes Day” at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday:[/B] The UK Athletics Department will host “Heroes Day” Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium, honoring military, police, firefighters and other first responders at the game. Heroes can present aservice ID at the gate 4 ticket booth and receive a complimentary ticket forthemselves and a guest, while supplies last. During the game, those first responders in attendance will be honored throughout the game.

[B]“Cat Walk” at 9:45 a.m.:[/B] Fans wishing to participate in the “Cat Walk,” cheering the Wildcats when they enter the stadium Saturday, should gather near Gate 1 of Commonwealth Stadiumby 9:45 a.m.

[B]Saturday is “United Way Day” at Commonwealth Stadium:[/B] Saturday’s football game vs. Central Michigan has been designated as UK’s annual “United Way Day” at Commonwealth Stadium.

The United Way is the official charity of the University of Kentucky. Fans are welcome to contribute to the United Way during the first half of the game as volunteerswill be passing collection buckets in the stands.
