Former Kentucky defensive tackle Corey Peters announced his retirement from the NFL this afternoon.
“After much prayerful consideration I’ve decided to retire from the NFL,” Peters said in a statement on Twitter. “The last thirteen years have been incredible. I’m grateful I’ve had the chance to compete at the highest level of the game.”
Peters played for the Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals and Jacksonville Jaguars during his 13-year career.
I must first and foremost give thanks to God for the talent he has given me, the opportunities he has provided for me. For always being by my side throughout this journey, which has at times been incredibly difficult.
