It appears that Florida could be close to parting ways with head football coach Billy Napier.
According to USA Today Sports, Napier could be fired as “soon as this weekend.”
The report says Florida’s athletic director Scott Stricklin met with several influential boosters on Tuesday and was told continuing financial support depends on a “new direction within the football program.”

The people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect the ongoing process, said embattled Florida coach Billy Napier could be fired as soon as this weekend. One thing is certain: Napier won’t survive another loss.
Florida (2-4) hosts Mississippi State (4-2) on Saturday afternoon.
