Dwight Perry Reportedly Joining Coaching Staff at East Tennessee State

Former Kentucky guard Dwight Perry is reportedly joining the coaching staff at East Tennessee State as an assistant.

Perry, who played at Kentucky from 2006-09, was 48-43 as a head coach at Wofford. He led the Terriers to the NCAA Tournament in 2025.

In a world where college basketball teams are paying millions of dollars for players (at the bigger schools the NCAA cares about), Perry was abruptly fired amid reports that six Wofford players had received improper financial benefits.

The players received “impermissible benefits” ranging between $84 and $108 per player when they used their on-campus meal plan while living in off-campus housing.
