CATS among Top Stories to Watch in 2012

Newly minted Hall of Fame sports writer, Mike DeCourcy of the Sporting News, takes a look at the top stories to watch in college basketball for 2012. Among them, the trajectory of Coach Cal and the CATS.

The math is simple, u know it and I know it. 09-10 Elite 8. 10-11 Final Four. 11-12 National Title. (Actually that math would have us out in the title game but, I digress…)

Decourcy says that Cal has the best resources to make it happen this year, but also faces the the toughest competition.

This team might be the best suited to winning it all because of the defensive prowess 6-10 Anthony Davis and 6-7 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist deliver, but this also is easily the toughest field Calipari and Kentucky will have faced together. North Carolina, Ohio State, Syracuse and Connecticut have the talent to be champions, and they’re all more experienced than Calipari’s Cats.

Well, here we are BBN. Its almost January, the time of year when teams turn the first real corner of the season, into conference play. Everything looks about as it should.

Cal is proclaiming utter disgust as his team blows opponents out. Sounds about right…

We have seen flashes of brilliance, but it is clear that all of the kinks are not quite worked out. right on par…

After a nonconference schedule that proves Kentucky is one of THE forces to be reckoned with, the national media is starting to lay their preseason doubts to rest. What, you expect them to actually give our team the credit they deserve without a fight?
