Bryan Station Football Coach Drives Himself Home After Being Struck By Lightning

In one of the more fascinating preseason football stories in recent memory, Bryan Station head coach J.T. Haskins Sr. drove himself home after being struck by lightning on Friday.

Amazingly, Haskins drove himself home and didn’t seek medical attention until Saturday when he felt tightness in his chest. Thankfully, he is doing well and has been cleared by doctors.

Jared Peck of the Herald-Leader spoke to Haskins on Sunday about the incident.

Here’s an excerpt:

“Out of nowhere, lightning struck the sky. And when I say it lit it up, it lit it up and had me stuck to that fence post. And then when the lightning, when the bolt released, it just dropped me to my knees,” Haskins said Sunday after getting checked out thoroughly at Central Baptist Hospital.
