Arkansas has fired head coach Sam Pittman in the middle of his sixth season after a disappointing 2-3 start.
To replace Pittman, Arkansas has promoted Bobby Petrino to the position of interim head coach.
Petrino previously worked as head coach of the Razorbacks but he was fired by then-athletic director Jeff Long for misleading the university about his relationship with the football staffer and details surrounding a motorcycle accident.
The staffer was revealed as a former Arkansas athlete who was in a romantic relationship with the married Petrino.
