Anthony Davis #5 in CBS Sports POY Rankings

Jeff Goodman and Gary Parrish of CBS Sports updated their POY Top 10 and Anthony Davis is at #5. (Terrence Jones is nowhere to be found)

Here is what the ‘experts’ had to say about Davis:

Davis dominated against Chattanooga with 14 points, 18 boards and a handful of blocks. He then had eight points, nine rebounds and five more blocks in a rout of Samford. He‘s still learning, but has made an immediate and significant impact early on in his college career. Last week: No. 6

Josh Harrelson’s ball boy up in Columbus is holding down the #1 spot and Thomas Robinson, the only player in the state of Kansas is at #2.
I definitely think Davis is a serious contender for POY.

I think Terrence took himself out of the conversation, but only temporarily. Ego can be a bad thing, but it is also the worlds greatest motivator. So I look for Terrence to come back and start ripping heads of on the regular.

I also believe that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is quietly making a case as well. A large part of this is based on stats, which makes it harder for any one player on UK (except for maybe Doron Lamb) but, there is another component which speaks to a player’s will to win and rol he plays as such, a la Kemba Walker last year.
