Jeff Goodman and Gary Parrish had to caveat their weekly POY Rankings this week by saying the following:
[COLOR=#333333][FONT=arial][I]Kansas big man Thomas Robinson continues to top the list because you just can’t drop a guy who keeps posting big numbers for a nationally relevant team. But Anthony Davis is close to catching him, and we think he might before the season ends.[/I]
Here is what they had to say about Anthony Davis who stays at #2.
[/FONT][/COLOR][LEFT][COLOR=#333333][FONT=arial][I]Davis has shown to be a difference-maker on both ends of the court. He dunks everything on offense and blocks everything on defense. If Kentucky wins a national title, he‘ll be the main reason.[/I]
The defense of Robinson’s big numbers is a bit out of context for me. Out of the context that Davis has so many other players on his team who are also putting up double digits and the context that especially in the last week, Robinson wasn’t even the best player on his team, let alone the country.
