Would You Pay $75 to Watch Kentucky Play Football?

The annual Kentucky/Louisville rivalry game is in Commonwealth Stadium this year and for some reason the game is not sold out.

Could it be that Kentucky and Louisville are having down years on the gridiron?

Well, Louisville did lose to Florida International at home and struggled to put away 1AA Murray State the week before.

Kentucky struggled in both of their first meetings, but they are 2-0 and still competing for a national championship, mathematically of course.

Could it be the game time of 7pm?

Of course not, that is an opportune time for tailgating and what else are you going to do on a Saturday in Kentucky?

Is it the $75 ticket price for each seat?

Shebang! I think it is absolutely outrageous for anyone to pay 75 bucks, 81 on ticketmaster, to watch Kentucky football, period.

Think about it, taking a wife and two kids, would be(hold on, I majored in PE)…….300 dollars to watch 2 teams that couldn’t beat Louisville Trinity in Papa John’s Stadium.

Now, I always support the Perry Central Girls Basketball team and buy a pretzel and a nice cold Pepsi to go with the bottle I have hidden in my pocket, so that is 10 more hard earned dollars.

Parking is jacked up to 25 dollars where we park, which is behind the doctor’s office across Nicholasville Road next to the church. I think we are getting close to 400 dollars if you add in gas and the tailgating supplies.

So, when Coach Cal tweets this:

Big Blue Nation, if you are not real sick or going to Church on Saturday night then there’s no excuse for not filling up our stadium!

Tell him to send some green our way, and we won’t stay at home and watch it on ESPNU and save a week’s paycheck.

Would you pay $75 a ticket to watch Kentucky/Louisville this weekend?
