Who Will Fall on the Sword?

The Kentucky offense is ranked 118th out of 120 schools in the entire nation.

Pretty bad, huh?

I know the fans want to start a new quarterback, but did you see the outcome of Maxwell Smith in the 3rd quarter?

As bad as Kentucky fans want to see Joker Phillips get the axe, you might as well forget it.

Not happening.

Will Mitch get the axe? Don’t even go there.

So who should fall on the sword because of the offensive woes for the Kentucky football team?

Take a bow, Randy Sanders, this is probably your final year in Lexington.

Even though Tee Martin, self admittedly, has not clue how to coach the wide receiver position and Morgan Newton has a slower release than it takes Billy Gillispie to figure out a ponzi scheme, Randy Sanders will be the guy that takes the blame at the end of the season.

It doesn’t matter if he coached one of the greatest quarterbacks of our time(Peyton Manning), or won a national championship in Knoxville, Randy Sanders will definitely be the scapegoat.

If you remember back to the beginning of Rich Brooks tenure as Kentucky coach, focusing on the loss in 2004 to Ohio U when the team was booed off the field, changes were to be made if Papaw was going to stay in Lexington.

The offense was anemic then, so the man in charge had to be replaced.

Oddly enough, Joker Phillips was named the new OC after former offensive coordinator Ron Hudson was fired for an ineffective offense in 2004.

Interesting enough, Phillips was the wide receivers coach.

Sanders was then hired in 2006 as the quarterback’s coach, as he is credited in the turnaround of Andre Woodson, who just so happens is on the staff now for Phillips.

If I have laid it out correctly: Sanders is gone, Martin is the new offensive coordinator, and Andre Woodson moves in as the new quarterbacks coach.

Who coaches the wide receivers?

Hopefully someone that has played the position.
