UK Hoops Plays Not To, but Wins

UK Hoops used a 34-2 run in the first half to beat the Alabama Crimson Tide 82-68 in front of 7,871 fans at Memorial Coliseum.

The win improves Kentucky’s record to 20-2 and 9-0 in the SEC.

The game ended up a lot closer than expected, considering Kentucky led 46-29 at halftime, but the lead ended up being too much for Bama to overcome.

Alabama crawled back to within 11 several times late in the 2nd half, but Kentucky seemed to pick it up a little when they needed to hold off the worst team in the conference.

Keyla Snowden led the Wildcats with 14 points, 12 of those in the first half, and A’dia Mathies finished with 13 in 28 minutes. Mathies was in foul trouble for most of the 2nd half with 4 fouls.

Bria Goss finished with 11 points in 23 minutes.

The rest of the scoring is as follows: Walker 9, Conwright 8, Henderson 7, Evans 7, Pinkett 6, Bishop 3, Riley 2, Smith 2.

Kentucky next game is at home as they host Ole Miss at 7pm.
