National Signing Day Predictions

After a long and stressful process, many college prospects are ready to put the pen to paper and end the long stressful process of recruiting. While there hasn’t been a lot of going on as of late for Kentucky, this Wednesday will gave many recruits, as well as coaches a chance to breathe a sigh of relief as to know that the race for the first Wednesday in February is complete. Here is my take on where many Kentucky targets will end up at.

Quarterback: No targets by the staff, only taking Patrick Towles.

Running back: After losing out to Imani Cross, I don’t see the Cats having anyone else commit besides long-time commit Dy’Shawn Mobley.

Wide Receiver: The Cats are still searching for another play maker on the outside, but I do believe if there is another receiver to pick the Cats it will be Florida native Raph Andrades Jr. Nevertheless, Tee Martin will get a lot of good depth for next year.

Tight End: After striking out on local products, and a few out of state stars the Cats will have to look to add this key position in the class 2013. However, one name to watch out for Florida athlete Guito Ervilus, haven’t been a lot of movement in his recruitment as of late.

Offensive Line: Don’t see the coaching staff being able to pull in another interior guy until next season, however, they filled up the o-line with size and versatility.

Defensive Line: After filling up on the defensive line early. The Cats did not try to reach out to many defensive interior guys late in the process. But the defensive end position was a big need, and was filled with some solid talent.

Linebackers: The big need heading into signing day, the Cats are looking to add Georgia native and former Tennessee commit Khalid Henderson. He will choose between Ole Miss and Kentucky, but I expect that he’ll end up in Lexington with a slight edge over the Rebels.

Secondary: After losing a commit in Jacoby Glenn earlier in the month, the Cats are still searching for a safety prospect, however, I do not expect the Cats to get what they hope for. But after adding solid talent early and late, the defensive backfield should have some quality depth for the coming years.
