Should Coach Cal Apologize?

It was another tough, frustrating road game last night. John Calipari’s Wildcats allowed themselves to get down by 20 points and despite fighting the good fight to come back, they fell short. Sometimes that’s the way it goes, but it doesn’t make it any less frustrating for players, fans or even the coaching staff. People who are passionate will get frustrated when things don’t go perfectly. Coach Cal showed that last night.

He let Eloy have it. Terrence Jones continuously get’s an earful. Sometimes we see it and sometimes we don’t. Last night, Coach Cal’s passion showed on national television at the end of the game when he used some flavorful language while talking to Terrence Jones.

That’s the passion that Kentucky fans love with Coach Cal, and it’s his job to make these kids better no matter what he has to say to get it through to them. It’s not the first time that Coach Cal has talked that way to a player. No way. It’s just one of the few times that it was captured.

The open question is: Should Coach Cal have apologized for his passion being on full display? Personally, I don’t think it was necessary and I appreciate his hard work to improve the play of these young kids. If it requires a few #$%^ to get the point across, well I am OK with that.
