Perry Ellis Looming

I recently had a chance to do an interview with Perry Ellis for Memphis’ Rivals affiliate, TigerSportsReport.com.

I figured I would definitely include some of the good stuff I got from him on here as well.

Ellis has a very busy summer ahead of him, as he looks to participate in camps and other prestigious tournaments throughout the country. Those camps include adidas Nations, the NBA Top 100 Camp, and Kevin Durant Skills Academy.

Eventually Perry will have to make a room for recruiting and to talk to coaches. While six teams are already enough, he is planning to add another team as well.
”I already have a great relationship with Coach (Jeff) Capel, so it helps out,” Ellis explained. “I’m interested in learning more about what Duke has to offer. Coach K and I are just getting acquainted, so it is still early.”
Here is also some more that he had to say about his recruitment and when a decision should come:
”No, I still am considering all six teams (Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Memphis, Oklahoma, and Wichita State), as well as Duke now,” he insists. “I had thought about possibly cutting my list down, but I think I am going to wait to see what happens after the summer wraps up.”

Ellis and his family continuously stay in contact with the respective coaches from each of the schools he is considering, whether it be via a phone call once a month, or a series of e-mails or written letters in the mail.

Ellis hopes to have a decision after the conclusion of the summer and before his senior season. It is obvious that he wants to win his fourth straight state championship in Kansas; he wants to have plenty of time and energy to concentrate on the goal, with no distractions.
It should be a very fun ride to watch Perry over the next couple of months!
