One of the top, if not the top, 2014 recruit in the state of Kentucky Jackson Davis has agreed to do a recruiting journal on Nation of Blue.

You will hear about the Lafayette High School Sophomore’s basketball recruitment, what is going on in school, and just how things are going in every day life.

Hello, my name is Jackson Davis. I live in Lexington, KY and recently became a 2014 UK recruit.

Other schools I have taken visits to include Cincinnati, Xavier, Purdue, Indiana, and Louisville.

I accepted an early invite to Hoosier Hysteria back in May, so this year I will miss Big Blue Madness for the first time in a long time. It’s kind of been a family tradition. Too bad they are both on the same weekend.

Let me tell you a little background about myself; I’m 6’8”, 215lbs, a sophomore in the SCAPA performing arts program at Lafayette High School. I wear a size 17 shoe. I’m fluent in Spanish. I’m really good at math and science. I have been playing varsity ball since 7th grade, and been a varsity starter since 8th.

Some other facts about me are that my mom says I could walk at 7 months, my dad says I could crossover dribble with either hand by 5, first dunked in a game in 7th grade, and I made the USA Basketball developmental team last summer.

My dad used to play for Kentucky, my paternal grandfather played in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls, and my maternal grandfather lead Pikeville to the State final against Lafayette back in the 50’s, so I’ve known for a long time what was expected of me.

My goal is to be a professional basketball player. It’s not an easy road, and some days I’d rather just sit at home, eat cereal and watch cartoons like my friends. But I know that all of the hard work will pay off one day, and I’m looking forward to everything that is in front of me. I also have a little sister who is a freshman that acts and sings very well. So now you know a little about me.

Stay tuned cause there is plenty more to come!
