Julian Leslie has not been the ‘highlight recruit’ in many peoples eyes. The Miami native may have five offers, but the one from the Wildcats really sticks out to him right now.
How does Leslie feel about Kentucky?
“They have a great academic and football program. I think I can fit very well in it. Before I got the offer, my family and coaches where telling me how great of a program they (Kentucky) are.” Leslie said.
“They are at the top of my list right now. I have offers from North Carolina Central, Savannah State, Western Michigan, Tulane, and FAU (Florida Atlantic University). I also think FIU (Florida International) is close to offering.”
Leslie,a Defensive End, has not really based his game off anyone or has been compared to anyone either. “I’m just trying to be my own person. I want to do my own thing.”
The South Beach native may not have many offers, but is trying to show many other college coaches his talents.
“This summer I am going to camp at North Carolina, South Carolina, Clemson, and I’m going to attend a Top Gun camp in Virginia.”
The under the radar Defensive End may have already expressed some hints on how he might commit to the ‘Cats. “I’m going to make my decision after I visit Kentucky. I wanna visit there and we’ll go from there.”
Leslie, who probably needs some weight, has already expressed wanting to play early in college.
” I’m going to train very hard. I want to get my degree in college, but I really wanna come in and make an impact.”
With the great work ethic and interest in the ‘Cats, Leslie also feels a real good connection with the coaching staff.
“Coach Turner is down to Earth. He keeps it real, and tells you how it is.”
While the ‘Cats may be adding the commit on the offensive side of the ball, they might just add another one on the defensive side of the ball with Julian Leslie.
