McKee’s Key’s: Ole Miss

Going into Saturday, the Kentucky Wildcats will be without starting quarterback Morgan Newton and a lot of key players as well. However, all the confidence and snap reps has turned over to freshman QB Maxwell Smith, who finished last week’s defeat with an impressive outlook for this weekend.

But what do you think?

While both teams come in ranking at the bottom of the SEC, a win for Kentucky might just give them the spark needed to try to reach a bowl game. The task at hand isn’t easy, but which game in the SEC is?

Key Players: Freshman DB/WR Nick Brassell- The true freshman has shown his capabilities to be a big star in this league early. Making plays on both sides of the ball, Brassell can change the game at any point. With the lack of production from both the UK receivers and defensive backs, Brassell is set to have a big game on both sides, leaving the question how can they stop him?

Jeff Scott/Brandon Bolden and Ole Miss Offensive Line: The key to past success in Houton Nutt’s offense. Having two dynamic backs and an experienced offensive line, will make the UK defense have a task that they seem to hand better than the pass. However, I believe UK will have to rely more on Danny Trevathan than ever before and making a lot of key tackles.

What do you think?

After giving my keys what do you the fans think Wildcats have to do to win this weekend?

Both teams are coming in with losing records, but I’m calling this one a toss up and a must win for UK if it wants to be bowl eligible.
