La’Rod King has the Tools to Make it to the Next Level

La’Rod King will be the #1 receiver for Kentucky this season and expectations will be high for him in his final season playing in the SEC.

King will have a new receivers coach this season as he looks to make big plays for an offense that struggled for most of last season.

He has 86 career receptions for 1,218 yards. King is coming off his best year in 2011, where as a junior, he caught 40 balls for 598 yards and seven touchdowns. Not bad numbers for a Kentucky offense, that at times in 2011, just looked plain lost. King has all the tools to play at the next level and he doesn’t mind going across the middle catching the ball in traffic.

I think King needs to set the tone early that he is going to be the guy that Kentucky’s quarterback, whoever that may be, can depend on to make big plays when they are pressured in the backfield.

King got off to a slow start last season, so let’s hope he gets it going early as Louisville is a game that could set the tone for the entire season.
