[COLOR=#000000]LEXINGTON, KY – UK men’s basketball sophomore Terrence Jones and freshman Anthony Davis were selected to the ESPN Preseason All-America team on Tuesday.[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Jones, the SEC media’s pick for league preseason Player of the Year, averaged 15.7 points and 8.8 rebounds last season helping guide the Wildcats to the Final Four.[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]The 2011 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year (league coaches) and SEC Newcomer of the Year (Associated Press) ranked seventh in scoring and first rebounding in the SEC respectively.[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Jones set the UK freshman single-game scoring record last season with 35 points against Auburn. He also posted 13 double-doubles, second most among UK freshmen all-time and his eight 20-point games was fourth most by a freshman in program history.[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Additionally, ESPN.com writer Jason King selected Jones as his National Player of the Year. He averaged 22.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in Kentucky’s two exhibition games.[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#000000]Freshman Anthony Davis was named to the second team. The 6-10 forward from Chicago averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 blocks in UK’s two exhibition games.[/COLOR]
