The Northern Kentucky River Monsters, led by former Kentucky quarterback Jared Lorenzen, lose to the top seeded Saginaw Sting 48-47 in the UIFL Playoffs this evening.

The River Monsters, who were dropped to the #4 seed because of UIFL sanctions, was supposed to be the #1 seed and stay at home for the entirety of the playoffs where they were undefeated.
Saginaw’s best player, quarterback Tommy Jones, quit 2 weeks ago along with 6 players who were ruled ineligible because of playing players after a certain cut off date, made this an uphill climb for the supposed #1 seed.
This by many people is looked at as an upset and is really bad news for the Eastern Kentucky Drillers as they will have to travel to Michigan for the 3rd time this season,
That is if they beat the Huntington Hammer tomorrow night in Pikeville.
