Wow, what a night! Did our Wildcat pros win the game versus the Dominican team? No. Did it really matter? Not one bit.
Last night was one of those truly magical nights in Rupp Arena, something that will never be repeated. It was one of those nights that you just know will be remembered forever. It reminded me of Coach Cal’s first Big Blue Madness, or Tayshaun and his 5 threes versus North Carolina. (Am I the only one who thought we might see that moment recreated last night?)
The reason this was special was not because of the game that was played, but because of the players that played it. Did you ever think that you would see Nazr Mohammed and Demarcus Cousins play together on the Rupp Arena floor? How about Keith Bogans and Tayshaun Prince passing the ball to John Wall and Eric Bledsoe?
If not only seeing some of our favorite Kentucky players of the past was enough, the crowd being electric made the night even more special! Think about the fact that this was an exhibition game put together just a couple weeks ago, it sold out and the fans were actually into it. The crowd booed when they needed to boo, and erupted the rest of the night, even breaking into an “ELOY VARGAS” chant.
These moments are special because Kentucky basketball is a family, and seeing family members come together, IN THE MIDDLE OF AUGUST, to a FULL Rupp Arena crowd is priceless. I hope you all were able to go to the game or watch the live stream, because memories like this last a lifetime!
What was your favorite moment from last night’s game?
