Eastern Kentucky Drillers End Road Woes at Canton

The Eastern Kentucky had not won a road in their young history in the UIFL, but that changed today as they beat the Cougars for the second time in little over a week 38-26.

The Drillers’ first win couldn’t have come at a better place, the home of the football hall of fame, as their defense took over again down the stretch to improve their record to 6-5.

Kentucky alums Marcus McClinton had 3 interceptions and David Jones had 1 as the best defense in the UIFL held the Cougars to a low offensive output for the second straight week.

The Drillers win had consequences, as starting quarterback Al Holland went down early with an ankle injury on a failed sneak, which put him on the sideline for the rest of the game.

Daniel Eidson, who has also been doing the kicking, stepped in admirably throwing 3 TDs.

Aric Evans caught 3 touchdowns for the Drillers.

The Drillers will be home next Monday at 7:30 vs. the Johnstown Generals.
