There are teams that live by the 3, and die by the 3.
One team Kentucky fans will never forget is the Unforgettables that pushed each opponent to the limit by bombing 3s all game long and became one of the favorite groups of players in the history of UK basketball.
This year’s Kentucky team doesn’t play that way at all, even going as far as some fans wondering if they would make a 3 at all, as they still win by 20 or more points.
Kentucky has to worry about dying by the 3, that being 3s made by their opponent.
The Indiana Hoosiers are shooting 43.7% from behind the arc, which is #2 in the entire country.
The interesting thing is Kentucky has shot more threes(555) than Indiana who has shot 513.
One point everyone must understand is it is hard to stop a team from hitting 3s if they are hot. All the Wildcats can do is get back on transition defense to limit wide open 3s off of the fast break.
The big question for the Hoosiers is can they go 9 for 15 from the 3, and even more concerning will Kentucky only shoot 2 for 7?
I highly doubt Kentucky will shoot that poorly again, but if something crazy is to happen and Indiana wants to move on, they will have to at least have a 20 point differential in 3 point shots made.
Can that happen again?
I don’t think so.
