California’s Kyle Labroi Opens Staff’s Eyes at Kentucky Camp

Kyle LaBroi from John Swett High School in Northern California, camped at Kentucky today and caught the eye of the Kentucky coaching staff.

Kyle is a running back in the 2013 class, who rushed for 1100 yards and scored 10 touchdowns and also caught 3 touchdowns out of the backfield.

I asked Kyle about the camp today and what did the coaching staff tell him.

“I loved it, it was a good environment,” LaBroi said. “Coach Phillips said he liked my footwork and how I kept the ball secure.”

Running Back’s coach Steve Pardue was also very high on the 5’10” 170lb back.

“He really liked me,” said Kyle of Pardue. “He liked my footwork and told me to stay in contact.”

One thought I have of a player coming to Lexington from California is the distance from home but Kyle had no problem with the move if it happened.

“I have family in Kentucky.and want to go to school out of California.”

Kyle LaBroi definitely sounds like a diamond in the rough and with the enthusiasm the coaching staff has shown him it would not be surprising to see him in Commonwealth Stadium in 2013.
