Kyle Bolin is ready to help his team continue to improve this season. The class of 2013 Lexington Catholic quarterback has already attracted numerous college coaches. However, that is not his main focus for the upcoming 2011 season.
” We’re just taking it one game at-a-time. When you think ahead, the losses start to come.”
The prime-time prospect also feels good about both the offensive and defensive units on his team.
”After the scrimmage we looked really strong. But you always want to improve We looked a lot of better of defense than we have been, and on offense we looked really strong as well. For me, I just want to stay poised in the pocket, make plays and not force things, and spread the ball around to the receiving corps.”
Of that receiving core, Bolin feels that rising senior Adam Bush has all of his trust to catch the ball.
Bolin, who already has three verbal offers so far, is still not ready to decide who his favorites are yet because of not being able to visit all of the schools who are interested.
”I like all of my scholarship school, which includes Louisville, Illinois, and Cincinnati. But those who have not offered yet, I would say Tennessee is among the group who have offered.”
The local junior recently took a trip to Louisville to watch practice a few weeks back.
”My visit went really well. I got to hang out with Mike Giglio (high school relations at UofL). It was a good chance to see the drills that the quarterbacks went through, and see how nice the atmosphere is. The fans were great. It was exciting to see so many fans at a practice. When practice was over I got a chance to talk to Coach Strong and they understand how I feel about Louisville. I like Louisville and I hope they like me back. They speak to me man-to-man, and not coach-to-recruit.”
The Lexington Catholic signal-caller spent his summer mostly on college campuses and with college coaches. However, the class of 2013 QB felt like his summer was ‘huge’.
”I had a huge summer. Especially from a mental standpoint. I got to be around people who love the game of football just as much as I do, and learned how to be a quarterback and not just play the position.”
Bolin, along with the rest of the Lexington Catholic squad will take on Bell County this Friday night. It will be the first game of the season, and one that Bolin and company hope to be successful.
